I've been diabetic for about ten years now. I always used the wallet that came with my Livongo meter. Recently I was caused to change meters. New meter, new lancing device, new wallet. A baggie would have been a little higher quality than the wallet. So I looked around and settled on this one.
Solidly constructed. The "Genuine Vegan Leather" (Aren't all cows vegan? Oh, wait...) has a nice feel and the stitching is even and sound. The zippers appear to be robust. I expect it to wear well, though only time will tell.
There's a nice array of pockets. I can get two meters in the pouch. It's close and a bit full, but it's possible for anyone who actually needs to do that. I use the elastic that's probably meant for an insulin pen to hold my old lancing device. I carry the new and far too small and seemingly fragile one in the other elastic holder seemingly meant for such a device. I have what appears to be a lifetime supply of lancets in the mesh pocket. There's also a removable pouch for presumably used pen needles and perhaps used test strips. I put my backup test strips there. Alcohol swabs live in a zippered pocket on the outside. I'm guessing the other side pocket is for a journal, though my computer won't fit in there, so that's not being used. This is a YMMV moment, you may use the pockets for somewhat different purposes. None the less, it can clearly be made to work well in varying circumstances.
TLDR Feels well made, fits my needs, all in all I see it as money well spent and suggest it to anyone looking.
Thoughts from the sidelines: My Wife says the price is about right, of course comparing it with the wallets with which she's familiar. Her Sister agrees. My Daughter, who raised a Type 1 child to adulthood, approves.
This beautiful little bag in a fun colour arrived and has inspired me to be much better and consistent at testing my blood glucose because I actually want to use it. It’s much prettier than the standard one I was issued when first diagnosed and has much more room for all the extra bits while not being too big or bulky. I especially love the trash pouch as previously I had nowhere to keep my used test strips. I can throw it in any other bigger bag to take with me everywhere which is also handy. Only downside is the zip is a bit stiff to close when it’s been open wide, but I know that’ll ease with use!
This pattern is so adorable and this wallet is total perfection!
The leather is not flexible so can only hold 1 day's worth of diabetic supplies. Wanted a small wallet but 1 that held more than 1 day's supplies. This is still not big enough but too big for my purse. My current setup has two soft bags that are flexible enough to fit my current purse. With a bigger purse it will work and is well made enough to last.
This wallet can be stiff at first, but the material softens and eases with time and use!
Love this produck!!
