Diabetes Friendly Appetizer

Posted by Jade Venhaus on

If you’re anything like me, you might want to bring your own dish for the holidays. I always like to bring something that is diabetes friendly, tasty, and a bit healthy! One of my favorite recipes is Buffalo Cauliflower. Here is what you’ll need to make Buffalo Cauliflower:

1. Ingredients

  • Cauliflower
  • Sauce of your choice (I recommend Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wing sauce)
  • Olive Oil
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Garlic Powder
  • Lemon

Other things you will need:

  • Baking Sheet
  • Cooking Tray
  • Large Bowl

2. Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
  • Get cooking tray and place onto a baking sheet
  • Prepare buffalo sauce, you can use the sauce by itself, or for more flavor, I suggest adding a tablespoon of olive oil, and a pinch of lemon juice + garlic powder. You can also add butter for extra flavor too!
  • Using a large bowl, toss the cauliflower and buffalo sauce together
  • Add buffalo cauliflower to cooking tray
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the buffalo cauliflower looks crispy

3. Buffalo Cauliflower Must Haves

  • Dipping sauces are an absolute must! Especially, Ranch and Blue Cheese.
  • A side of carrots and celery to go with the Buffalo Cauliflower.
  • Garnishes such as, green onions for aesthetic!

Navigating the holidays with diabetes isn’t always easy, but you can make it easier on yourself by bringing a yummy diabetes friendly appetizer.

Enjoy! 😊
